It's a little cumbersome to keep going back and forth between models when developing annotation groups. An alternative could be to be able to select the geometry that is shown as the example when in the annotation group manager.
When editing points in ITL and applying a feature name override, there should be a pick list of all currently defined name overrides. Right now the only option is to remember what names you have assigned.
