It would be very helpful to be able to put in different spacing for the shear stirrups than for the shear connectors between the beam and deck. I know older standard detailing had these all as one bar so the spacing would always be the same. However today they are often installed as two different bars that can have entirely different spacing such as what is show in the NYSDOT standard bridge details. Being able to control these spacings independently would be more in-line with current detailing practices.
