Add a separate limiting tension stress for the top of girders near interior supports. AASHTO LRFD permits the use of a limiting tension stress at the top of girders near interior supports for Service III different than the limiting tension stress in the precompressed tensile zone for Service III. This enhancement would be very beneficial to clear erroneous asterisks/flags of exceeded tension stresses at girder ends with restraining moments, especially for the prevalent bridge type of simple span girders made continuous for live load.
