Currently, for abutment and piers, when battered piles are used in combination with an embedment length, the pile location is set based on top of pile not the bottom of footing. When users input pile spacings into the pile layout dialog, it is not obvious that this is the case. Piles need to be manually adjusted to account for batter angle. Typically, locations of piles are set based on the bottom of footing. Recommendation is to always set the pile locations based on bottom of footing and not top of pile or give the user the option to choose.
