Our designers would still like to display all cross sections generated by the Drawing Production tools in one model so that the designer can analyze them as they wish in one view rather than looking at them sheet to sheet or drawing model to drawing model. I believe each of the cross section models could just be referenced in automatically in a stacked fashion maybe by defining how many rows and columns the user would like to see.

We have this in our Cross Sections training pdf at learn.bentley.com. And an example sheet seed is provided with the Training & Examples workspace provided with the software.
Update: a Sheet Model containing all cross sections can be changed to a Drawing model in the Model Settings.
Dear Admin,
How do I find the PDF that you refer to above? I am logged into Bentley Learn, and I have tried several different options in the search bar at the top of the learning.bentley.com page. None of these have easily identified the PDF that you suggested above.
Please provide instructions with how to search Bentley Learn to look for a specific PDF. As far as I can tell, none of the options for "Filters" allows the user to search for PDF formats/content.
If it is not possible to filter or search for a PDF, then please provide the exact name of the course that you are referring to above.
Kind regards,
Matt
I would actually like the ability to create all the cross sections in a single model. While modeling and automated annotation can get us over 90% of the way, we still have a certain amount of hand work on our XS. For example, we need specific labels for each of our driveway types. On smaller projects that may not justify an entire drainage design, we add drainage structures. There are other circumstances that require manual work as well.
in the older software, it was easy enough to start the tool, do one section, navigate to the next section of interest, do that, and so on, without the need to start or stop the tool, and definitely without the need to switch models. Switching model takes time - maybe not much each, but over hundreds, it definitely adds up. In addition, the tools do not stay activated on switching models. They need to be restarted and reset every single time.
While we could create an "XS Text file" to display all the sections and annotate there, that text file would need to be manually referenced into every cross section model. Again, over hundreds of sections, that is a lot of work.
This could all be streamlined if we have the ability to create one drawing model that had ALL the XS in it. I don't just want to be able to see them in one model, I want them to be in one model.
Since this already exists, can you provide a link to show how this is done in ORD?
