Create a button/command that creates a linked 3D model associated with the active 2D model
When we create a new file we often start with a 2D seed with only one 2D model in it. We often would like to have a linked 3D model associated with that 2D model. It would be great to have a simple button that force creates the linked 3D model.
ASCII elevation data from hydrosurveys is delivered in positive depths making for an embankment instead of a channel. A function to multiply elevations by -1 would save a trip through Excel or a GIS program.
Add profiles from different horizontals to a rollplot sheet
Would like an easier way to add multiple profiles to a single sheet that belong to different horizontal alignments. Specifically we're looking for a way to quickly place all the drainage profiles (which below to different horizontal alignments) on...
Add Active Terrain Elevation to Civil Analyze tool
Many users regularly need to get the existing elevation at a specific alignment location and there is currently no quick or easy way to do this. Adding additional Active Terrain elevation information on the Civil Analyze tool would give users quic...
When working on sites and parking lot, sometimes we create a grading terrain to construct the slopes and low points than apply to it the pavement surface template. To model the sidewalks (think of a parking lot island) we create a clipped terrain ...
Make Edit Feature Definition dialog box a non-temporary window
Make the Edit Feature Definition dialog box an actual dialog box. Currently it's too difficult to expand the dialog window, and it only remains in view when your cursor is within the window. It disappears too easily with a slight move outside of t...
Add option to set forward/backward depth and forward/backward display while creating the cross section sheets.
When making named boundaries we were not able to select any settings or seed files that would let us select the options for forward/backward depth and forward/backward display. This means we had to go into each named boundary individually. Its imp...
Calculating Multiple Polygon Volumes using Analyze Volume from Terrain Model
The calculate volume tool only works on a single target polygon. If multiple polygons are present it's quite tedious to calculate one-by-one and manually sum the totals. For example in a bathy survey of a channel it's common to have different area...
Include the slope of a terrain into the OpenRoads Modelling/Horizontal/Place Point command from the Geometry command as in Drainage and Utilities/Layout/Place Node.
This would then allow the placement of items that need to be on a slope in an OpenRoads model without filling up the file with a lot of drainage data. An example of this a crash barrier impact attenuator.
